“Insert today’s date”

or is that yesterday’s? Because I’ve been up since 9am yesterday and it’s now 8:05. And I’m a bit sleepy, but not terribly.

I did force myself to do a workout, Bollywood Blast, which is only a half an hour all told, but kinda choreography-y so I got confused. At least there’s no abs in it! Muddled most of the way through, but got cramps in both calves from the hopping. My calves are obviously a weak spot; I cramped up in my calves when I went for a long walk a few days ago, and it’s happened twice before. Never used to happen.

I’m taking my vitamins, taking my Evening Primrose Oil (what the hell, I bought it; might as well take it, even if I really meant to get St John’s Wort) and eating a balanced, primarily vegetarian, unprocessed, low salt diet, so WTF? And I’m hydrated to the gills, speaking of which, I shall go get another glass of water.

Re-read part of Live for Success; that’s still a damn good book. There are some speech exercises in it I might use the Telephone Your Blog function to do; it works pretty easily.

I have exactly four dollars and two cents to get to the 21st, which is when Paypal says it will free up my money, although it’s usually a bit faster than that. Here’s hoping. I have a jar of salsa, a flat of white eggs, extra-large and free range (I love the egg man; he’s just as cheap as the crappy eggs!) three bell peppers, two and a half servings of buckwheat noodles, and a half a bag of mushrooms. I think Sunrise’s $1 bag of chopped veggies and a bag of bean thread noodles will have to do, maybe with some spinach if I take back a few bottles or something. At least I’m not getting fat!

Sylvia said when I stood up she could see the weight I’d lost. That’s good to hear, because it came out of the blue and she really meant it. That’s the kind of thing that does give one motivation when one’s pants still seem tight and one cannot get into the jeans one is SURE one wore three months ago. But this shirt, which used to be snug, is loose and flapping, even though mah boobies haven’t gone down any in size. I suppose that’s the bright side.

My god, I have no idea how I afforded things like Internet, Hydro ($130+ in the winter for a one-bedroom apartment) and booze. I really, truly have no idea how I afforded it. If it weren’t for Grandma’s $2500 she left me, I’d have had to go on assistance over the summer, thanks to the classes sucking donkey dick all summer and Trueslant getting bought. And it is all gone now.

I’ve had an ear infection since Wednesday, but the doctor’s appointment is Monday. It was very painful last night and the night before; obviously, lying down isn’t good for it, not to mention I could probably use a fresh pillow, but I’m not going to get one till the economy starts putting out for me again. I’m working on it, I’m working on it.

Figure we can use Eventbrite on the Shebeen Club, and keep the price at $20, up it to $25 at the door. We’ll still get people at the door, and $5 extra is going to be useful. It’s very hard to bring it in at 15 for food, tax and service, and they ALWAYS screw up the bill or charge for me or the presenter. If we move to the Everything Cafe, I expect that problem to stop. But useful to know Salt Cellar also exists. Hmmm.

Last weekend I had to go to the hospital for bleeding, this weekend I’m still waiting to hear the results of the tests. All the bloodwork was in the normal range, except my iron and RBC count was down, of course from all of the bleeding. My potassium was elevated, for some reason. I don’t know what that means.

A number of things can lead to this condition, including kidney failure, the use of certain medications, problems with the adrenal glands, excessive intake of potassium, and conditions which cause the cells to release potassium such as a medical problem which leads to widespread cell death.

Well, that does not look good. Kidneys, adrenal glands, or widespread cell death. Not much fun, really.

Got my ultrasounds done Wednesday: abdominal and pelvic (internal; much easier this time for some reason). The pelvic examiner was friendly and had no particular remarks other than that there were a lot of fibroids but they didn’t look like anything serious. I couldn’t see the screen for that one. The abdominal one somewhat alarmed me when his first question was, “So you have a strong history of ovarian cancer?” Uh, no. I have an aunt who had it, and a second cousin who had cervical cancer, but that’s it as far as I know. I could see the screen on this one, but couldn’t make anything out. He was very thorough, and went over an area in my right side just at the bottom of the ribs, about halfway between my midline and my “edge” several times. On the screen I saw something that looked like a screaming mouse, with the ears and everything. As he woggled the untrasound thingy back and forth slowly, it shook its head. I don’t think that’s a good sign, but I don’t know what it’s saying exactly.

Except, I do know I can beat a mouse.

Doctor hasn’t called to discuss the results. I’m seeing my GP on Monday, will have them call the hematologist (who I now find out is an Olympic medallist in sailing0
